Students who want to transfer to the University of Delaware, Department of Art & Design should review the University's transfer admissions page for requirements and guidelines. Admission to the BA major is processed through the UD Admissions Office. On the Undergraduate Admissions webpage, you will be prompted to the Common Application to the University and the Application Checklist. A portfolio is not required to apply to the Bachelor of Arts degree.
Application for the BFA-FA or the BFA-VC program is a two-step application process. Admission to either program is first processed through the UD Admissions Office. Admission into these programs is competitive and requires the submission of a portfolio.
Step 1: The Common Application to the University; please see the Application Checklist.
Step 2: Submit a digital image portfolio and 500 word essay for the Department Review Process.
International students:
Upon receipt of your application, the University Office of Admissions responds to all Department of Art & Design applicants with a letter outlining the portfolio and essay requirements for admission.
Please contact the Art & Design Department (artdepartment@udel.edu) to determine if any of your existing credits will transfer. It is at the department's discretion if your existing credits will transfer as Art & Design credits.
