Biography

Robert Straight has been a member of the University of Delaware Art
faculty since 1980. Robert's paintings have been exhibited throughout
the United States including; Delaware Art Museum (Wilmington, DE),
Susquehanna Art Museum (Harrisburg, PA), The Noyes Museum (Oceanville,
NJ), Aldrich Art Museum (Ridgefield, CT), High Museum of Art (Atlanta,
GA), Detroit Institute of Art (Detroit MI) Cranbrook Academy of Art
Museum (Bloomfield Hills, MI), National Academy of Sciences (Washington,
DC), as well as galleries in New York City. His work is in numerous
corporate and private collections and his work is represented by
Schmidt/Dean Gallery in Philadelphia. Professor Straight teaches various
courses including painting in the Undergrad BFA/BA program and he is a
Grad Advisor as well as the Coordinator of the Graduate Program. His
studio work is informed by investigations of science and math and is
mainly focused on painting but recently work in clay has become a part
