Students who want to transfer to the University of Delaware, Department of Art & Design, should review the University's transfer admissions page for requirements and guidelines. # 1: Apply to the University of Delaware by submitting the common application.
For Spring transfer admit you must submit your application by November 1st to the Admissions department. You must submit your portfolio and essay to the Department Admissions Committee (DAC) by November 1st via Slideroom.
For Fall transfer admit you must submit your application by May 1st to the Admissions department. You must submit your portfolio and essay to the Department Admissions Committee (DAC) by May 1st via Slideroom.
Upon receipt of your application, the University Office of Admissions responds to all Department of Art & Design applicants with a letter outlining the portfolio and essay requirements for admission.
# 2. Submit your digital portfolio and essay for review by the Department Admissions Committee.
Portfolios and essays must be uploaded by midnight November 1st via SlideRoom for Spring admission and by midnight May 1st for Fall admission.
The DAC will not evaluate original portfolios. Portfolio reviews are not conducted in-person; rather, portfolios are submitted through the SlideRoom website. We do, however, encourage students to visit the University of Delaware campus during an open house. Please visit Office of Admissions for more information.
Please contact the Art & Design Department to determine if any of your existing credits will transfer. It is at the department's discretion if your existing credits will transfer as Art & Design credits. Please know that in most cases transfer students are accepted into the Foundation Art program and not a degree program.
